Bryan, Texas (November 14, 2024) – ANCO Insurance, a Hub International company, in partnership with Texas A&M Athletics, is proud to announce the launch of the Community Heroes Program, an initiative designed to honor and celebrate individuals who make a lasting impact in their communities. This new program aims to recognize the everyday heroes—first responders, teachers, healthcare workers, and volunteers—whose dedication and selflessness bring meaningful change to those around them.
“At ANCO, we believe that strong communities are built by individuals who go above and beyond, often without any expectation of recognition,” said Ross Gunnels, Area President at ANCO Insurance. “The Community Heroes program allows us to highlight and celebrate these inspiring people who make such a difference, not only in the Brazos Valley but across Texas. This is an opportunity to give back to those who truly embody what it means to serve their communities.”
The Community Heroes Program will invite members of the public to nominate individuals who have made a significant impact in their communities. Nominated heroes will be reviewed by a committee from ANCO, and selected honorees will be celebrated during select Texas A&M games throughout the 2024-25 athletic season, including men’s and women’s basketball and baseball. Each hero honored at these games will have a donation made in their name to a non-profit organization of their choice.

The Community Heroes Program exemplifies ANCO’s core values by supporting communities across Texas in a meaningful way. Nominations are now open, and anyone wishing to highlight a hero who has impacted their life or community is encouraged to submit their nomination. Honorees will be announced throughout the Texas A&M basketball and baseball seasons, with plans to expand the recognition to include a Texas A&M football game in 2025, making the Community Heroes program an annual tradition.
