The current applicable Commercial Lines Minimum Written Premium is $500,000 per carrier.
Is a separate contract required to access the commercial lines department?
Yes, a commercial lines contract must be signed, even if you have a personal lines contract in effect.
How can business be submitted for quotes?
Fax, Email or Regular Mail.
Is there a minimum account size?
No, not for Mid-Continent Casualty business. Varies by carrier for other business.
Are completed applications required to obtain a quote?
Yes. To properly underwrite and “sell” your account, we need this information.
How and when are direct bill commissions paid?
Paid once a month and mailed with itemized statement.
How and when are agency billed premiums due?
Agent pays by statement mailed each month. Net premium is due by the 15th of that month with rare exceptions.
How are commissions determined?
Your commission will vary by type of account and market.
Does the Common Sense agent deal directly with the company underwriters?
No. By contract, we are required to make all contact with company underwriters.
